Ruaha National Park

Rugged, remote and rich in predators and baobabs.

About Ruaha National Park

Ruaha is a large, rugged park in the centre-south of Tanzania where acacia, miombo woodland and baobab trees meet. The Great Ruaha River draws wildlife in the dry season and creates fine game viewing along its banks.

The park is known for large numbers of elephants, big prides of lions, leopards, cheetahs and a range of antelope, including greater and lesser kudu that are rarely seen further north.

Ruaha is much less visited than the northern circuit, so many game drives are quiet and you may have a sighting to yourself.
