Zanzibar

White sand, warm water and the historic alleys of Stone Town.

About Zanzibar

Zanzibar is an island archipelago off the coast of Tanzania, known for white-sand beaches, clear water and a long history of trade and Swahili culture. Stone Town, its old quarter, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of narrow lanes, carved doors and bustling markets.

You can snorkel or dive on coral reefs, sail on a traditional dhow, visit spice farms, look for red colobus monkeys in Jozani Forest or simply relax on the beach. The east coast has strong tides, while the north and parts of the west offer calmer swimming.

Zanzibar combines easily with a safari or Kilimanjaro climb. Allow three to five nights for a restful finish.
